Holidays in Arenal Arenal, just a 15 minute transfer from Palma airport, is a bustling resort and a great choice for those looking for a sandy beach to relax on and non-stop nightlife. Attracting holidaymakers from all over Europe, the resort is lively and cosmopolitan and a good choice for both groups, young couples and singles. Arenal was one of the first purpose-built resorts in Majorca, developed around a small fishing village in the 1960’s, and most of the architecture of the resort reflects that.

Stretching over 5km along the coastline, the beach of Playa de Palma, with its’golden sands, shelves gently into the sea, and is backed by a series of beach huts offering convenient facilities such as showers and small kiosks. A recently constructed promenade links Arenal to its’ neighbour, C’an Pastille, which is a particular favourite with British tourists and ex-pats, and home to an attractive harbour. A mini-train runs along the traffic-free promenade between the two resorts, and there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to stop at, for those who choose to walk. There is a large selection of hotels and apartments in Arenal, and most are close to the centre and the beach.
Holidays in Arenal – Lively bars and clubs Arenal is a popular choice for those looking to party all night, and there are plenty of venues to choose from, ranging from traditional British pubs and European karaoke bars, to clubs with international DJ’s. The restaurants serve all kinds of cuisine, catering for various different nationalities, from fast-food to traditional tapas. Arenal offers watersports, mountain-biking, sailing and tennis within the resort, and there are some interesting daytrips on offer. Palma, with its’ rich history and culture, is just 15 minutes away, and Arenal is home to the largest water park on the island, the popular Aqualand de Arenal. For the brave, the nudist beach of unspoilt Es Trenc is a short trip away.
